Our History
1996
- Supply of steel sections to window fabricators begins.
1998
- Separate company formed to supply steel sections.
- Predominately supplied industrial door market / roll forming started.
- Operated on low margins with high overheads.
2001
- Door section business sold to Doby Verolec.
- Excel moved to Mosspark site.
2005
- NW Metal Sections Ltd established, to supply PVCu window & door fabricators.
2011
- Sale of Excel to IDE.
- NW Metal Sections focused on PVCu reinforcement.
- Most sections formed with press brakes and punches.
- Supply to fabricators only.
2012
- Introduction of 3 new roll forming lines & saws.
2013
- New presses introduced / begin to supply 2 System Houses.
2014
- Manufacturing software and MRP Introduced.
2015
- More new roll forming lines added (2 additional 16 station machines).
2016
- Vehicle fleet increased to 4 vehicles (2 new articulated).
- Further 4 roll forming lines introduced.
- ISO9001:2015 latest standard achieved.
2017
- Two new press brakes & new guillotine purchased.
- Start to supply a further 3 System Houses.
2018
- Further investment in vehicles, roll formers and fork trucks, help sustain the growth trends.
- Business award winner for high growth business of the year.
2019
- Move to new 80,000 sq ft building on a 5 acre site to allow for future growth primarily with System House work and other construction products.
- Over £500k invested into the new site to provide a modern unit set up around the requirements of our business.
2020
- Additional £1m investment in machines, vehicles and site improvements.
- New MRP and logistics systems installed.
2021
- New roll forming lines installed, 17 operational lines in total.
- Lean manufacturing system implemented, supported by software improvements (Gemba).
- December 2021 - acquired by the Indutrade group
2022
- Spring 2022 – increased production capacity to manufacture larger sections for renewable energy market.
- Summer 2022 – completed installation of factory control software
2023
- Summer 2023 – development of sections for the SFS market, acquired EN1090 certification.
- Finishing installation of new mill to support heavier gauges for the construction industry.
2024
- Spring 2024 – acquired BBA certification further increase in production capacity following, acquired Construction line premier supplier status

Quality Assurance
Our production facilities include three spacious 30,000 square foot warehouses, the latest manufacturing and stock control software, modern CNC/CAD machines and highly qualified employees.
We have a wide variety of tools to manufacture most sections in the UPVC window industry, and can even design our own custom made tools using our specialist tool-makers who will prototype, test and manufacture new profiles.
We constantly invest in our production facilities to ensure we are supplying the best quality galvanized steel reinforcement for our customers.
Responsive Location
We operate from a five-acre site based in Skelmersdale Lancashire, right in the heart of the Northwest. With us being only a half a mile off the M58 and the motorway network we are ideally situated for a nationwide service.
With our own dedicated transport fleet we are able to deliver multiple loads of sections across the country every 24 hours, but if that's not quick enough for you, you can collect your orders same day.
